Today I'm keeping it short and sweet. It was a busy weekend here at Green with Envy Events! Our co-founder Laura was visiting San Diego from Washington DC with her darling baby Siena! This was my first time meeting Siena, and Laura's first time meeting my baby (puppy)...Rita. I just had to share these adorable pictures of Siena and Rita getting to know each other. With these two cuties laying at our feet, how on earth are we supposed to get any work done?

It's never too early to instill a good work ethic. Siena was helping Laura send emails, and pretty soon she will be a guest writer on our blog. Seriously, can she be any cuter?

Def Leppard Goes Green!

Yes, you heard me correct. On Friday, July 16, 2010, Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen wed costume designer Helen Simmons in Eco-friendly fashion! Taking place at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida...this wedding naturally evolved into an Eco-friendly celebration! "We didn't intentionally start out trying to have green wedding," Collen told People magazine, "But since it's a natural part of our lifestyle to respect the environment, everything flowed pretty naturally."

The rocker and his ladylove opted out of sending paper invitations, and invited their guests via email. And Collen has been a Vegan for 27 years, so they featured an all organic, vegetarian and vegan menu. Yum!!!

The gorgeous bride wore the Nomsa (Faith) Dress from Eco-friendly wedding gown designer Adele Wechsler’s Hello Africa collection. The Hello Africa Collection incorporates beading done by Zulu women who would otherwise be unemployed and are paid Fair Trade wages.

Adele Wechsler designs her stunning gowns for "the bride who cares about the world in which she lives". This mantra inspired her to create the ECO COUTURE collection, a collection with an Eco-conscience. By infusing elements like organic hemp and silk, vegetable dyes, remnant fabrics, and hand cut designs, Wechsler is able to offer brides an Eco-friendly option with all the luxury of a couture gown.

It gives me such joy to hear about any Green Wedding, but especially celebrities who can use their fame to set a responsible example to newly-engaged couples all over the world. Making simple choices during the planning of your wedding can make the biggest difference!

If you are getting married, or know someone who is...please encourage them to make Eco-conscience choices while planning their wedding. With all of the resources available today, Weddings can be Eco-friendly without losing any style or elegance.
